BJP Among Richest National Political Parties In 2019-2020, SP Richest Regional Party: ADR Report

The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) report reveals that the richest political party in India for the year 2019-2020 is BJP. What is more interesting is that the second position is taken by the BSP, followed by Congress.

The worth of the BJP as per the ADR report is Rs 4,847.78 crore. The value of BSP is estimated at Rs 698.33 crore, followed by Congress at Rs 588.16 crore. The assets calculated by ADR include the seven national parties and 44 regional parties all over the country.

The Seven National parties include the BJP, the BSP, the Congress, the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPIM), the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) as per their worth.

ADR Report Details

The report by ADR is based upon the analysis of the assets and liabilities of the national and regional parties. The report was conducted by the poll reform advocacy group of ADR. As per the report, the worth of the 7 national parties stands at Rs 6988.57 crore. In addition, the worth of 44 regional parties is Rs 2129.38 crore.

Among the national parties, the maximum value of assets belongs to the BJP which is almost 70% of the total value. This is a huge growth for BJP as compared to last year report. Whereas, in the year 2018-2019, the share of the BJP was around 54.29%, which is now 70%. But in regional parties, Samajwadi Party has the maximum assets value of Rs 563.47 crore. In the second position is the TRS party with assets worth Rs 301.47 crore.

ADR Values for 2019-2020

Among the regional parties, fixed deposits account for nearly 76.99% (Rs 1639.51 crore) of the total assets for the years 2019-20. In the regional parties, the maximum fixed deposit belongs to the SP. But among the national parties, the maximum fixed deposit belongs to the BJP worth Rs 3253 crore. In second place is the BSP with Rs 618.86 crore. The liabilities value of different political varies but here the Congress party is leading with a number of Rs 49.55 crore, 66.72% of the total value of liabilities.
