Dalits, OBCs, Muslims Should Beware Of SP Says Mayawati: Checkout Deets!

SHIVANI UJJAINWALApril 5, 20230

A police report was filed against SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya after he used a 90s slogan during a programme on Monday in Raebareli. Akhilesh, the party president, also attended the ceremony to witness the unveiling of the statue honouring Kanshi Ram.  Mayawati, the head of the BSP, stated on Wednesday that members of the Dalit, OBC, and Muslim communities should be wary of the Samajwadi Party because it prioritises caste politics and "anargal" issues over development and the general welfare. Her comments came two days after Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav declared that the "Bahujan Samaj" is joining forces with his party in a significant way to protect its rights, democracy, and the B R Ambedkar-drafted Constitution. Gunjan ChaudharyMarch 28, 20220

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which was reduced to only one seat in the 2022 UP Assembly elections, is also seeing the future of the party through this election result. Party strategists believe that this election result has proved that even after full support of their so-called casteism policy, Samajwadi Party is not able to stop BJP, so those who are also looking for a political alternative to stop BJP are now in a big dilemma. So now, in 2024 they will see hope in BSP itself. Now the party will try to win the confidence of the voters by running a mass campaign that can live up to their expectations, so they should give preference to BSP as an alternative to BJP. BSP believes that the elections of 2022 were deliberately turned into a one-on-one fight of 'BJP vs SP'. When the Samaj...

Nepotism In Indian Politics: Factor That Unites Diametrically Opposites

Sayani ChakrabortyJanuary 24, 20220

Nepotism is an integral part of Indian politics. When it comes to the five impending elections for state assemblies, it is not uncommon for members of one political family to be on opposite sides of the political divide. Everyone in Akhilesh Yadav's large family has been marginalised after a protracted rift, earning the Samajwadi Party (SP) considerable public ridicule for being a family business. Having no future in the SP, Aparna Yadav, his sister-in-law, decided to join the BJP. There is a fading return to the Badal family dominance of the Akali Dal, which has ruled Punjab politics for decades. Political Nepotism of India In Indian politics, dynastic succession is reality except for parties like the BJP and the dying CPM and CPI, though they too make provisions for scions dem...

Nitesh PratapJanuary 19, 20220

Mulayam Singh Yadav's younger daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav joined BJP on Wednesday and the party gets a psychological edge. BJP may publicize this as a split in the Mulayam family. In the last Assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav had to bear the loss of resentment from uncle Shivpal Yadav. Uttar Pradesh BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh probed, "If Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav could not keep his family united, then what would be able to keep Uttar Pradesh united?" However, SP has prepared to give a befitting reply to this by uprooting a big problem of BJP. According to BJP sources, the party can field Aparna Yadav from Lucknow Cantt seat and she has accepted to join the BJP camp only after getting assurance from the party in this regard. UP Assembly Election: With Mayawati Being Absent From Ground, Dalit Votes Seem Scattering Among Parties

Snehashish RoyJanuary 18, 20220

The Dalit community accounts for as many as 21% of the total vote population in Uttar Pradesh. A section of the population that has decided the fate of politics in the state for the last couple of decades. Since its inception under the leadership of Kanshi Ram, Dalits have been supportive of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ever since the 1990s. The party went into an overhaul after Mayawati took charge as the first Dalit woman in India to become a chief minister of a state. Mayawati's technique to amalgamate Dalits and Brahmins using the social engineering formula had given her major success in the 2007 Assembly elections. However, her activism in the current election season seems missing. The former chief minister of UP and social reformer has remained absent on the ground. Und...

Early Signs Of UP Election; Check Out What’s All Going On!

Sayani ChakrabortyDecember 16, 20210

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's project launching frenzy, generously laced with religious preaching, and Akhilesh Yadav's Vijay Yatra crisscrossing UP have made it plain that, for the time being, the SP is the BJP's main rival in India's most critical assembly elections. UP has experienced four-cornered battles in the past, with small transfers of votes determining or breaking electoral fortunes. If the 2022 elections are essentially a bipolar struggle, the political dynamic may shift, with greater possibilities for both the BJP and the SP. And, with elections being conducted in the shadow of another Covid strain, the pandemic's effect on millions of aam voters in the state may play a role in addition to the normal metrics of caste, community, and sub-region. Leaders getting ready for u...

Is India’s Congress Party In A State Of Self-Destruct?

Sayani ChakrabortyNovember 11, 20210

In Punjab, where innocent Indians were massacred by British colonial control at Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar has just undergone a major refurbishment. Jallianwala Bagh has been "Disneyified" by the BJP administration, according to Congress Party leader Rahul Gandhi, and only a person who does not understand the meaning of sacrifice can inflict such an insult on the victims. These states, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, have been in the headlines recently because of infighting among their ranks. Bhupesh Baghel, the vibrant chief minister of Chhattisgarh, led his followers to New Delhi in a show of strength to wipe out any threat to his position from his party opponent T.S. Deo last month, much to the displeasure of the Congress Party high command. It was anticipated that the party...
