The Heirs from Political Dynasties: Yugvendra Pawar

The Pawar Nephew’s views about Ajit Pawar

In the month of September, Ajit Pawar came into light about his call to a woman IPS officer. His call was made after a demolition drive against unauthorized excavation of murum in Kurdu village, Maharashtra. Pawar questioned the officer’s handling of the situation. The tone of the conversation, parts of which were circulated on social media, drew criticism from opposition leaders and activists, prompting Pawar to publicly express regret two days later.

Yugvendra Pawar criticized the Deputy CM’s conduct and said, ‘No one should talk to government officers in this manner’. Whereas Rohit Pawar defended his uncle, and asked for putting an end to the media trial.

Pawar Family Sticks Together

Two years since a split within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) positioned them as political rivals, Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar continued to be part of family affairs without any hint of animosity – this time at the engagement of the former’s grandnephew Yugendra Pawar with Tanishka Kulkarni.

The Pawar family attended the traditional engagement ceremony held at Ms Kulkarni’s Mumbai residence on 03rd August 2025.

Pawar Vs Pawar

He is a member of NCP. In the year 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he contested for the Baramati seat. He contested against his uncle Ajit Pawar, and unfortunately lost to him. The Baramati seat has always been a focal point in the history of Pawar family and Maharashtra Politics.

Yugvendra Pawar had been close to Sharad Pawar, and he had been preparing him for the elections as well. This feud between the Pawar family always dominates the elections in Maharashtra.
