Pushpendra Saroj: A young Dalit Debutante from UP 

Pushpendra Saroj is leading the pack of Samajwadi Party from Kaushambi. He is a young Dalit leader, who is making sure the issues of Dalit reach the parliament. In 2022, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav had asked young Pushpendra to join politics, as he had recently returned from his studies in London. But since he was only 23 years old, he couldn’t. 

He has highlighted the issues of casteism in India. He even mentioned his nomination papers were not taken from his hand, as he is a Dalit. 

Pushpendra on Nitin Gadkari 

Pushpendra Saroj claims to be a fan of Nitin Gadkari. In a conversation with India Today Conclave, Pushpendra Saroj talked about why he entered politics and his favorite MPs. He finds himself fortunate to sit beside people who are experienced, and he gets to learn from them. He also talked about why today’s youth should be more connected and interested in politics. 

In response, to a question about his favorite MP, Saroj mentioned he admires the work done by Nitin Gadkari. He said that he listens to every MP’s issue and finds a solution very quickly. He also regards Akhilesh Yadav as his role model. He mentioned how Akhilesh is passionate about bringing more youngsters into politics, and giving birth to a new Indian Politics.

Pushpendra Saroj has been applauded for his presence in the Lok Sabha many times. He is punctual and never misses a day of his duty. He shows us consistently, and consciously. And he speaks not for headlines, but for change. 

About Pushpendra Saroj

Pushpendra Saroj was born on 1st March, 1999. He is currently India’s youngest MP. He is the son of Indrajit Saroj and Pushpa Saroj. He attended Welham Boys’ School. He then graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2019 with a degree in Accounting and Management.

He is a cousin to Priya Saroj, another young MP from the Akhilesh’s Yuva Neta group.
