PM Modi Visits Odisha Train Accident Site, To Meet Injured In Hospital: Deets Inside!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Odisha train accident site in Balasore after 261 people were killed and close to 900 sustained injuries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaches the Balasore train accident site in Odisha to take stock of the tragic accident that has left 261 people dead and over 900 people injured so far. Three trains collided and derailed during the tragic incident causing the highest number of casualties in over two decades in any such train tragedy. On his visit to the Odisha train accident site on Saturday, PM Modi reviewed the situation and spoke to the Cabinet Secretary and Health Minister from the site. He asked them to ensure all needed help is provided to the injured and their families, reported news agency ANI.

PM Modi was accompanied by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. While taking stock of the situation at the accident site, Modi said that special care must be taken to ensure that the bereaved families don’t face inconvenience and that the affected keep getting the assistance they require. During his visit, the Prime Minister was briefed by Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other officials about the Balasore train accident at the site of the incident. After taking stock of the situation at the Balasore train crash site, PM Modi left for a hospital to meet the victims of the Odisha train tragedy. Earlier during the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a meeting in Delhi to review the situation of the Odisha train accident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the restoration work that is underway at the Balasore train accident site. Meanwhile, he also announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
