Recently, Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker complimented Rahul Gandhi and the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra, saying that despite personal attacks, Gandhi has not given in to “communal rhetoric or sensationalist politics.” On Friday, Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker commended Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and said it was admirable considering the state of the nation.
The Bollywood actor claimed that despite ongoing personal attacks, Rahul Gandhi has not opted for “sensationalist politics” while sharing a television clip of the yatra. Swara Bhasker’s admiration for the yatra was appreciated by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh. He tweeted, sharing Swara Bhasker’s tweet, “Finally.”
“Credit where due…Despite electoral defeats, trolling, personal attacks and constant critique about being ineffective, Rahul Gandhi has neither succumbed to communal rhetoric nor sensationalist politics. Given the situation of this country, an effort like Bharat Jodo is commendable,” The tweet by Swara Bhasker said. The actor emphasised in a subsequent tweet that it wasn’t a promotion for the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The yatra is now in Telangana and will travel around 375 kilometres through 19 Assembly and 7 Parliamentary constituencies before entering Maharashtra on November 7. On Thursday, Mohammed Azharuddin, a former captain of the Indian cricket team and one of the Telangana Congress’s working presidents, attended Rahul Gandhi’s yatra. Rahul Gandhi promised one GST slab rather than five on Friday while speaking to a crowd in Mahbnunnagar if Congress wins the election.
The latter backs each and every Bill that the NDA administration has submitted to Parliament. “On the one hand, BJP is spreading hatred and on the other TRS supports it. Whatever BJP wants, TRS fulfills it in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha,” he said.
