UGC Permits 900 Autonomous Colleges To Run Online Courses; Know Commission’s Stand On Delhi Colleges

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted permission to 900 additional colleges to produce online degrees for students. This decision will open up new learning opportunities for scholars. the choice was also made keeping in sight the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes online education. Students are going to be able to get their degrees remotely with the assistance of online education. Before this order, only universities were allowed to own online courses.

UGC now says first year classes will start in November, there will be no winter, summer breaks

Now, around 900 autonomous colleges, which have National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) 3.26 grade, are allowed to supply online degrees and courses. The eligibility criteria for college students to enrol in online degree courses includes being Class 12 and undergraduate, qualified for taking admission to UG and PG courses. Students would be evaluated through online proctored mode or a computer-based test. the scholars must maintain 75% minimum attendance within the online degree programs. The online programs will broaden the education horizon for college kids moreover as promote flexibility. UGC is predicted to share an in-depth framework in March 2022.

Earlier, UGC Friday evening issued a notice saying that universities and sodalities may renew — keeping seeable their region’s Covid situation — and conduct classes and examinations in either offline or blended (online and offline) mode.
