Amit Shah’s statement in the parliament regarding the killing of civilians in Nagaland is misleading quoted by The Konyak Union. Shah said that the security forces signalled the civilians vehicle before gunning down. The incident took place on 4th December .

Konyak Union Views on Shah’s statement:

The Spokesperson T Yanlem of Konyak Union called Shah’s Statement “Shameful” and said that the incident was not of mistaken identity. She asked for an apology and also said that home minister should retract his statement. Yanlem also said that the para commandos , an elite force, commit a blunder without asserting anything. They killed six young innocent boys returning to their homes in the village. The Tribal Union also held protests in Mon District and burned Amit shah’s dummy.

kONYAK UNION BURNING AMIT SHAH’S EFFIGY IN PROTESTS

T Yanlem asks that How can the Union Home Minister Amit Shah give such a statement without checking facts? How can he be so wrong? . Honang Konyak , the president of the tribal body added that we are asking for justice and we don’t need sympathy. Twisting the truth is unfortunate and Shah’s statement in the parliament is confusing the world with wrong information. He also said that we will not rest until justice is delivered to those 14 Konyak youth killed in the incident. The Nagaland Police has lodged an FIR against the paramilitary forces , stating the intentions of the security was to kill and injure the civilians.

Konyak Union Demands post civilians killing in Nagaland:

The konyak Union sent a memorandum to the President of India, seeking action against the Defense Personnel in the brutal killing of civilians in Mon District, Nagaland . The demands are : to conduct an independent inquiry under a competent investigating agency . This should include two members from Naga Civil Society in the special team and to identify the military personnel involved in the incident. So that they can be booked and punished under applicable civil court. Another important demand is to vacate Mon district by the Assam Rifles on the moral ground. The union also demanded to repeal AFSPA from the entire North East region.

KONYAK UNION CONDEMNING THE BRUTAL NAGA KILLINGS

The Konyak Union official statement stated ” The union in it’s strongest term condemn this act of barbarism against innocent citizens. The union shall stand high and firm against the perpetrators and demand immediate probe and book culprits up to the highest rank as per the applicable civil court”.
