The G20 Bali Summit held from 15 to 16th November 2022 was the seventeenth meeting of the Group of Twenty, which was convened in Nusa Dua, Bali. Indonesia presided over the summit this year which was handed over by the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi to Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the end of the previous Rome summit. Several agendas and developments were discussed including climate change, Ukraine War, monetary policies, etc. The summit also saw several levels of bilateral meetings held between the participating nations. Indo-Pacific Economic Framework: Dilemma, Doubts For India
US President Joe Biden visited Tokyo on May 23 ahead of the QUAD summit and launched the the Indo-Pacific Economic Partnership Framework (IPEF) along with 13 Indo-Pacific nations including India. The framework is launched to ‘balance’ the growing Chinese market. Biden has stressed on the fact that the future of 21st century will be pivoted on the Indo-Pacific which is a ‘free, open, connected, secured and prosperous’ region where the economic growth is inclusive and sustainable.
