NASA’s Dart Mission Successful In Saving Earth, Asteroid Collided With Spacecraft, Read To Know More!!

Gunjan ChaudharyOctober 12, 20220

Scientists all over the world have always been concerned that meteorites can hit the Earth and end life. To deal with this threat, NASA's spacecraft Dart collided with a meteorite Dimorphos, 6.8 million km from Earth. NASA says a spacecraft collision has changed the orbit of an asteroid in a test to protect Earth from future threats. And the spacecraft has successfully deflected the asteroid which could hit earth in a test. This meteorite body was orbiting a 525-foot meteor made of rocks named Didymos. The path of the meteors has been changed after the collision of the spacecraft. That's why it was named Double Asteroid Re-Direction Test (DART). The Dart mission by NASA that was launched last month to protect the Earth from meteorites coming towards Earth was successful. Under this m...

Where Did Earth’s Early Life Forms Get Oxygen? Scientists Finally Have Some Answers; Checkout!

Arpita SarkarAugust 23, 20220

By studying the genomes of common lifeforms, scientists know that the first organisms on Earth had genes that could break down oxygen and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). But how hydrogen peroxide - which can be a useful source of oxygen when broken down - got into the water, where the first life evolved, was a mystery. It is known that only trace amounts of H202 were present on the first Earth - Earth in its first billion years. Published in the journal Nature Communications, a new peer-reviewed study by scientists at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom shows that tectonic plate movement — and the associated stresses on the Earth's crust — was a source of oxygen that helped drive the biochemistry where life exists. First evolved on Earth. In the study, the scientists showed h...

Solar Storm Likely To Hit Earth Today; Darkness May Cover Across Earth

Gunjan ChaudharyApril 14, 20220

Every day some other event keeps happening in space. There are many such events that have an effect on the earth. Now in the meantime, a similar incident is about to happen which can have an effect on the earth. Agencies around the world have issued an alert regarding this. According to the agencies, today i.e. on April 14, a geomagnetic storm emanating from the sun will hit the earth. The activities on the Sun have increased. Therefore, scientists have predicted that a geomagnetic storm can prove to be dangerous. It has been told that the dangerous geomagnetic solar storm is moving towards the earth at a speed of 20,69,834 per hour. Experts have been discussing this storm for the past several weeks. Terrible consequences can be seen after a geomagnetic storm hits the Earth. Agenc...

NASA Discovers 65 Exoplanets: Read On To Know More!

Pooja YadavMarch 24, 20220

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has discovered a total of 65 new planets outside the Earth. This new discovery takes the whole number of exoplanets that are discovered to over 5,000. A number of these discovered planets are Earth-like. This discovery has marked a milestone in space exploration. These 65 newly discovered planets are now being studied to see for the presence of microbes, water, gases on their surface, or perhaps life. According to astronomers, the Milky Way Galaxy is home to many billions of such planets and there are such a large amount of galaxies present in space. The James Webb Space Telescope clicked a picture that showed thousands of galaxies and there are chances that every one of them has unexplored Earth-like worlds. The discov...

Earth Escapes Sure Havoc From A Gigantic Solar Storm

Monomita NagFebruary 23, 20220

The NASA Solar Orbiter satellite made history by capturing images of a massive solar eruption. The eruption is also called prominence and surprisingly the string of fire that was attached to the Sun was extending millions of kilometres into space. Such solar storms cause coronal mass ejections (CME) which can cause havoc on the earth. This orbiter was a joint mission between NASA and European Space Agency (ESA) and was launched in February 2020 and it began its operation in November 2021. This particular image of a solar storm will help scientists study how they are created. It is to be noted here that such solar storms create clouds of gas that remain concentrated above the magnetic field of the Sun. The scientists agree that the massive solar eruption could have caused a gigant...
