Arjun Ram Meghwal, a retired IAS official, later served as the District Magistrate (Collector) in the Government of Rajasthan before being elected to the House of Representatives. Less than a year after the Arunachal Pradesh MP was given the cabinet portfolio, Arjun Ram Meghwal replaced Kiren Rijiju and assumed the position of Minister of State for Law and Justice. According to a press release from Rastrapati Bhavan, Meghwal will continue to maintain his current positions as Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of State for Culture.
