Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought the support of Delhi residents on Saturday in order to ensure the success of the G20 Summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people of the national capital on Saturday to help make the G20 summit a success. The much-anticipated summit will be held in Delhi on September 9-10, bringing the year-long discussions on various global concerns to a close. PM Modi stated that the city will host the mega G20 event and that people may experience some inconvenience as a result, adding that “we must ensure its success.”

The Prime Minister also asked for forgiveness for any inconvenience caused by the G20 Summit arrangements to Delhi residents. “I seek forgiveness from people of Delhi in advance for inconvenience G20 Summit arrangements may cause to them, “PM Modi made the remarks while speaking to a crowd outside Palam airport, where he arrived after meeting ISRO scientists in Bengaluru earlier today.

Noting the traffic and other restrictions that will be imposed in Delhi during the G20 Summit, the Prime Minister stated that people in Delhi bear more responsibility than anyone else. “…there will be so many guests coming…From 5-15th September, there will be a lot of inconvenience, I apologise for that in advance. These are our guests…traffic rules will be changed, we will be stopped from going to several places but some things are necessary..,(sic)” he added.

The Prime Minister also recalled his trip to South Africa for the 15th BRICS Summit, where he received congratulations for Chandrayaan-3. “I went to attend BRICS in South Africa…I got a lot of congratulatory messages during BRICS for Chandrayaan-3. The whole world has sent congratulatory messages”, he said, adding “when we achieve some success, we resolve to prepare for new heights (sic)”.

“The point where Chandrayaan-3 landed, that point was named as ‘ShivShakti’. Shiv ki baat hoti hein toh Shubham hota he aur Shakti ki baat hoti hein toh mere desh ke Nari Shakti ki baat hoti he’…Chandrayaan-2 point was named as ‘Tiranga’.., (sic)” the Prime Minister further added. According to PTI, PM Modi stated that he has directed all government departments to use space technology in the delivery of services to people in a transparent manner. PM shared his experience meeting ISRO scientists, saying, “Earlier today, I was in Bangalore as I had decided to meet the scientists who helped India accomplish such a great feat. I was encouraged to see people who had come with national flags to celebrate the success of Chandrayaan. (sic)”
