PM Modi also had an open discussion with Sharad Pawar, the leader of the NCP. Along with his nephew Ajit Pawar and the chief minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, senior Pawar also appeared on stage at the event. On Tuesday morning, PM Modi traveled to Pune and laid the cornerstone for several construction initiatives. Modi also conducted “pooja” at Dagdusheth Mandir after his arrival.
According to PIB, the Lokmanya Tilak National Award was established by the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust in 1983 to honor Lokmanya Tilak’s legacy. Every year on August 1, it is performed. Lokmanya Tilak, a social reformer and advocate for Indian independence, passed away on August 1.
Pawar had previously been convinced not to go to the Pune event by a number of opposition parties, including Shiv Sena (Uddhav) and Congress.
