“Confident Tesla Will Be In India…”: Elon Musk Meets PM In US, Says “I Am A Fan Of Modi” Deets Inside!

SHIVANI UJJAINWALJune 21, 20230

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, said he intended to visit India next year and expressed optimism that Tesla would arrive in the country shortly. Musk claimed that it is quite possible that there would be a sizable investment in India and described his talk with Prime Minister Modi as fantastic. “I am planning to visit India next year. I am confident that Tesla will be in India and we will do so as soon as humanly possible. I would like to thank PM Modi for his support and hopefully, we will be able to announce something in the future. It is quite likely there will be a significant investment in India. It was an excellent conversation with the Prime Minister,” Musk mentioned as quoted by the news agency ANI.

Musk, who visited PM Modi during the first leg of his US visit, stated that he admires him. Additionally, Musk expressed his extreme excitement for India’s future. He extolled the virtues of Prime Minister Modi and asserted that the latter is actively promoting investments in India because he genuinely cares about that country. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, said: “I’m incredibly excited about the future of India. India has more promise than any large country in the world. He (PM Modi) really cares about India as he’s pushing us to make significant investments in India. I am a fan of Modi. It was a fantastic meeting and I like him quite a lot,” as quoted by the news agency ANI.

Speaking on PM Modi’s leadership role in promoting technological inclusion so that digital infrastructure could be built, he added, “I can say he really wants to do the right thing for India. He wants to be open, he wants to be supportive of new companies, obviously, but at the same time, make sure it accrues to India’s advantage, which is obviously that’s the job I’m saying. I am a fan of Modi,” to ANI. Musk tweeted in reaction to PM Modi’s tweet about his meeting with US business leaders: “It was an honor to meet again.” “In the USA, I will also get the opportunity to meet business leaders, interact with the Indian community and meet thought leaders from different walks of life. We seek to deepen India-US ties in key sectors like trade, commerce, innovation, technology and other such areas,” tweeted PM Modi.

He also divulged plans to visit India anytime soon. On being questioned over whether PM Modi extended an invitation to him, he said, “He did. And yes, I’m tentatively planning to visit India again next year. I’m looking forward to it.” Notably, this is the first time PM Modi and Musk have spoken since Musk purchased Twitter. PM Modi first met Musk in 2015 when touring the California factory of Tesla Motors.

“Well, I’m actually incredibly excited about the future of India. I think India has more promise than any large country in the world,” told Musk to ANI. Earlier, Musk was asked if the automaker was interested in the Indian market during an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Sure, he said, “absolutely.” In addition, he predicted that by the year’s end, Tesla would have chosen a site for its facility in India. “It was a fantastic meeting with the Prime Minister and I like him quite a lot. He visited our Tesla Fremont Factory several years ago, and so we’ve now known each other for a while,”remarked Musk during his meeting with PM Modi today.
