Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge To Choose Karnataka’s Next Chief Minister: Checkout Deets!!!

SHIVANI UJJAINWALMay 15, 20230

In the Karnataka assembly elections, the Congress party triumphed. The party overthrew the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration in Karnataka, the only South Indian state where the saffron party has a sizable foothold. Today’s Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting saw the passage of a resolution allowing party leader Mallikarjun Kharge to appoint the new chief minister of Karnataka.

On Sunday night in Bengaluru, the freshly elected Congress party MLAs gathered to talk about the formation of the new administration. Leaders expected to get their opinions on the Karnataka Chief Ministerial candidate at the start of the meeting, which was held in a private hotel.  AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal and the central observers for the Congress met with Siddaramaiah, the leader of the opposition in the outgoing Assembly, and D K Shivakumar, the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, earlier.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, AICC General Secretary Jitendra Singh, and former AICC General Secretary Deepak Babaria were sent as observers for the election of the CLP leader by Congress President M. Mallikarjun Kharge. In the Karnataka assembly elections, the Congress party triumphed. The party overthrew the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration in Karnataka, the only South Indian state where the saffron party has a sizable foothold.

Kharge claimed during a media interview at his home that the victory in the Karnataka assembly elections was a victory for the people. “People in Karnataka have rejected the BJP. The people who were suffering from inflation, unemployment and corruption have ensured the victory of the Congress and that too with a big majority,” he stated.

According to him, the Congress has been given the largest mandate, which is for the state to have a stable government. According to Kharge, the five assurances of the Congress will be carried out as expected by the people, especially the poor, women, minorities, and Dalits. “We will bring the five guarantees to life on the first day our cabinet is formed and will implement them. This is why we have got a big mandate, we have to serve the people. Our job is to serve the people and ensure the welfare of those who voted for us and also those who did not vote for us,” he stated.
