West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee Says, “Amit Shah Trying To Topple My Govt, BJP Will Lose 2024 Polls If We Unite” To Know More Checkout Here!

Amit Shah’s remarks at a recent rally that her government wouldn’t last through 2025 prompted the TMC leader to call for his resignation. “If we unite, the BJP will lose the 2024 elections,” West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Monday, adding that only the judiciary could “save the nation”. The chief minister, Mamta Banerjee, claimed that the BJP targeted Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLAs in a “planned manner” while taking no action against those responsible within the party.

Jiban Krishna Saha, a party legislator, was detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday in connection with the West Bengal teachers’ recruitment scandal. Saha is accused of acting as a middleman to solicit money from applicants by promising them positions as teachers in the education division during the hiring process for the first West Bengal State Level Selection Test (SLST) 2016 for classes 9 and 10.

However, the Calcutta High Court’s 13 April judgement mandating a CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation of Abhishek Banerjee in the recruitment scandal was stayed by the Supreme Court on Monday, which gave the TMC some cause for celebration. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, was also called to resign on Monday by Mamta Banerjee after he predicted that her government will fall prematurely during a recent rally. “Instead of protecting India, Home Minister Amit Shah is conspiring to topple my government,” Banerjee said.

Amit Shah stated last Friday during the opening of a party office in Birbhum that Mamata’s administration will fall after the 2025 Assembly elections if the BJP won 35 seats in the state. “Whenever elections are due, BJP makes comments that polarise communities,” Banerjee said, reiterating her stance that she would not allow implementation of the National Register of Citizens and the Citizenship Amendment Act in West Bengal.

In response to the Saturday night killings of gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, she strongly slammed the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. “Encounters have become a normal thing for the people of Uttar Pradesh. People of UP should protest against these encounters. If anything happens in West Bengal, they (BJP) send central agencies. BJP is a double engine… double standard,” she noted.
