Country’s First Nasal Vaccine Gets DCGI Approval, Informed Health Minister, Read To Know More!!

India has got another success against the corona pandemic. India’s first nasal vaccine has been approved for emergency use. Union Health Minister of India Mansukh Mandaviya said that the country’s first nasal vaccine made by Bharat Biotech for Corona has been approved by the Drug Controller General of India for emergency use. This will be India’s first nasal vaccine for the Covid-19 virus.

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister of India Mansukh Mandaviya has expressed happiness about this. He described this vaccine discovery as a big step in India’s fight against the Corona pandemic. He tweeted while informing from his official Twitter handle and wrote, “A big step in India’s fight against COVID-19! Bharat Biotech’s ChAd36-SARS-CoV-S COVID-19 (Chimpanzee Adenovirus Vectored) Nasal Vaccine has been approved by Central Drugs Standard Control Organization for primary immunization for 18+ age group for restricted use in emergency situation against corona pandemic.”

He wrote that this step will further strengthen our collective fight against the pandemic. India has used its science, R&D and human resources in the fight against COVID-19 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to its utmost level.

How does the nasal vaccine work?

Nasal spray vaccine is given through the nose rather than by injecting into the body. This vaccine builds immunity in the inner parts of the nose. This vaccine is also considered more effective because the root of most air-borne diseases, including corona, is mainly the nose, and immunity building in its internal parts proves to be more effective in preventing such diseases.

It gives freedom from the injection. By building up immunity in the inner parts of the nose, this decrease the risk of respiratory infection.
