“NITI Aayog Lowers Logistics Cost By ULIP”-Know About ULIP…

According to NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, the logistics cost is lowered down by leveraging the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP). The logistic cost is currently at 13-14% of GDP.

Highlights

It may be brought down by bringing all mode of transportation under single window by connecting all logistics stakeholders from ministries, enterprises and associations. ULIP are a serious game changer for Indian logistics landscape by assisting just-in-time inventory management, identification of cheaper logistic modes eliminating tedious documentation process, cargo movement monitoring, and improving international competitiveness.

National Logistics Portal (NLP) is prepared to be integrated with ULIP, so as to form the multi-modal logistics ecosystem more efficient.

Background

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked NITI Aayog, in May 2020, to develop technology driven solutions in priority sectors so as to handle challenges for post Covid-19 scenario. ULIP was one of the seven projects conceptualised under the “technology commons initiative”.

 

It is the integration and convergences of 24 systems, 78 APIs and 1454 fields across waterways, ports, shipping, civil aviation, railways, DGFT & customs and road transport & highways.

About Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP)

ULIP is intended for enhancing efficiency and reducing the value of logistics in India by creating a transparent, single window platform to supply real-time information to any or all stakeholders. it absolutely was emphasized that the answer should have visibility of multi-modal transport and every one the prevailing systems should be integrated with the ULIP system to form a National Single Window Logistics Portal. ULIP will provide real-time monitoring of cargo movement and ensure confidentiality of information with end-to-end encryption. it’ll also provide for comprehensive reduction in logistic cost.
