A tweet made by Washington Post journalist Karren Attiah which praised Rihanna for her response on farmer protest has been liked by Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey.
Karren Attiah wrote “Rihanna has raised her voice for social justice in Sudan, Nigeria and now in India and Myanmar. She is a Real one” in one of her tweets which was recently like by Jack Dorsey. He also like another tweet of her which says “Now is a good time as ever for @twitter and @Jack to add a Twitter emoji to the massive #FarmersProtest in India- like they did for historic international protests like #BlackLivesMatter and #EndSars”.
Very recently the international pop star shared a Cnn Article which talked about the Indian government restricting the internet in the places where farmer protests are going on. Which was followed by Greta Thunberg tweeting in support of farmers and said that she stands with them. Many other international celebrities also came in support after that one by one on social media.
But the global response has been condemned by the Indian government and many Bollywood and sports celebrities including Sachin Tendulkar, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan. These personalities collectively tweeted a lookalike tweets with hashtags like #Indiatogether and #Indiaagainstpropaganda which is allegedly quite similar to the response of many BJP ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah.
On Thursday Delhi Police filed an FIR for investigating a toolkit which was also shared by the climate activist Greta Thunberg. Which eventually lead up to assumptions that FIR has been filed against Greta but it was later cleared by Police that just the creators of toolkit are under the matter of investigation.
Posters of Greta Thunberg, Rihanna and Meena Harris, an American lawyer and also the niece of American Vice President Kamala Harris were burned down by the group members of United Hindu Front. However Greta stands firm on her opinion and to make sure the world know that she tweeted “I still #StandWithFarmers and support their peaceful protest. No amount of hate, threats, or violations of human rights will ever change that. #FarmersProtest”.
