Retail Inflation Jumped To All-Time High In Last Eight Years; Read To Know Reasons!

The common people of the country have once again suffered a major setback on the inflation front. In fact, retail inflation has increased more than expected in the month of April. According to the data released by the government on Thursday, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the month of April stood at 7.79%. This figure for retail inflation is the highest in the last eight years. Retail inflation has risen on the back of a sharp rise in food prices and has remained above the Reserve Bank's target upper limit for the fourth consecutive month. India, in the last few years, has failed to make any progress in treating Anaemia among women and children. The results from the two renowned platforms show similar findings. These two reports come from the Global Nutrition Report (2019-21) and NFHS-5 (2019-21). According to them, Anaemia is worsening in women aged between 15-49 years and in children aged between 0.5- 5.0 years. Along with this NFHS-5 (National Family Health Survey) data shows that the biggest spike is seen in children between 0.5 - 5 years old, with 67.1% of children suffering.
