Bhagwant Mann has been declared the chief ministerial face of Punjab by the Aam Aadmi Party. The announcement was made by the chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal said Mann has been selected based on the televoting results in which 93% of people voted for him. More than 21 lakh people voted for the process via phone calls and WhatsApp messages. Election 2022: One In Punjab, Two In Manipur While Seven Phases In UP; Counting Of Votes Simultaneously In All States

The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the dates for assembly elections in five states. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra informed that polling will be held in one phase in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, two in Manipur, and seven in Uttar Pradesh. The voting of the elections will begin in Uttar Pradesh from February 10. Vote Counting will be done in all the states together on March 10. A strict protocol will be followed during elections. Victory procession will not be allowed after the winning of candidates. The Chief Election Commissioner told that Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Goa will go to the polls in one phase on February 14, while Manipur will vote in two phases on February 27 and March 3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo and name have been removed from the vaccination certificates in all the five poll-bound states. The move has been taken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to comply with the Model Code of Conduct, which came into effect on Saturday. The filters have been applied on the CoWIN app to remove PM Modi's name and photo from the COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
