West Bengal: Mamata Gets Into Controversy Before Reaching Birbhum; Big Disclosure About Violence In Investigation

Politics has now intensified over the violence in the Birbhum district of West Bengal. Following the violence now many opposition leaders including BJP, Congress have started protesting against the TMC government. In the midst of all this, Mamata Banerjee reached Birbhum and met the families of those killed in the violence and also warned the accused.

CM Banerjee said that the suspects of the Rampurhat massacre will be searched. “Every culprit either surrender on your own or else the police will arrest you,” she said. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was stopped at Santiniketan in the Birbhum district. After this, all the leaders sat on a dharna against the violence.

BJP : You Came To Mourn Or Celebrate

Mamata also got into controversies before meeting the families of the dead in the Birbhum violence. Party workers put up toran gates to welcome her, which is being criticized a lot. BJP even asked whether she is going to mourn or celebrate?

BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted that the local shameless TMC unit in Birbhum’s Rampurhat is ready to welcome Mamata Banerjee by putting up a toran gate. She is visiting to take stock of the horrific massacre in which “several women and children were burnt alive by people close to her regime. This is cruel, inhumane…”

Big Disclosure In Investigation Report

Eight people, including three women and two children, were brutally thrashed before being burnt in Bogtui village of Birbhum. This thing has been revealed in the post-mortem test of the dead bodies. An official of the Rampurhat hospital said that as per the preliminary findings, the victims were first severely beaten up and then burnt alive.

Mamata Wipes Tears Of Families Of Dead

As soon as Mamta wanted to know the condition of the victims, the pain of the relatives of the deceased spilt out from their eyes. Mamata gave water to a crying person and wiped her tears. She gave a check of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of those killed in the violence.

Mamta also met the family members of the slain Trinamool Congress leader Bhadu Sheikh. While narrating the agony to Banerjee, a relative of the deceased leader fell unconscious.

A Tough Case To Be Filed Before Court: Mamata

Mamata Banerjee said, “You have lost a member of your family, my heart has been hurt a lot by this. The police will ensure that the culprits of the Rampurhat violence case get the harshest punishment possible. A harsh case will be filed before the court.”

Shameful Incident: Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on the Birbhum incident said that it is a shameful incident and a blot on governance. “Burning people alive like this is very painful in a democracy. I appeal to the state government to learn a lesson instead of offering defence,” he said.

Congress Demands Implementation Of Article 355

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has demanded the implementation of 355 in the state. Article 355 empowers the Center to intervene in the politics of the state if the law and order situation in the state is disturbed. The opposition has also demanded the resignation of Mamata Banerjee from the post of Chief Minister.
