Delhi MCD Elections 2022: Congress In Full Swing To Win, Rahul Gandhi Meets With Congress Leaders

Congress leaders are constantly churning to regain their lost pride in Delhi. Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with the top leaders of the Delhi Pradesh Congress and discussed the party’s prospects in the municipal elections. A special action plan is being prepared to strengthen the prospects of the Congress in the corporation, so that the party’s base can be increased.

The strategy of giving tickets to people from the non-political, but with a strong social background is likely to be adopted. Apart from this, it has been decided to give tickets to more than 50 percent women in the corporation elections. Tickets will be given to only those people who will be successful in making the maximum number of Congress members from their constituency.

The party has so far made 1.75 lakh members in Delhi under the membership drive that started from January.

According to the information received from Congress sources, four former presidents Arvinder Singh Lovely, Ajay Maken, Jai Prakash Agarwal and Subhash Chopra along with current Delhi Pradesh Congress President Chaudhary Anil Kumar were present in the meeting held on Saturday with Rahul Gandhi. Apart from this Shakti Singh Gohil and KC Venugopal were also present in the meeting.

Rahul Gandhi asked all the leaders of the Delhi Pradesh Congress what measures should be taken for the return of Congress in Delhi. All the leaders expressed their views. Rahul Gandhi listened seriously to the words of Congress leaders.

It is believed that after discussing the issues suggested in this meeting, Congress will throw itself in the elections by making its final strategy.

At present, it has been decided in the meeting that the candidates who work to make the maximum number of Congress members in their respective areas will be given an opportunity to contest the municipal elections.

For this, an app has been prepared, on which a person will be accepted to be a member of Congress only after taking real time photo and authenticating it through OTP.

Mudit Agarwal, chairman of the committee to add new members to the Congress, told that the membership drive has been kept completely digital. Other political parties make members by missed call. In this, the person who does not take membership of the party, is said to be a member of any party in a fake way.

To avoid any kind of fraud with the data here, it has been made mandatory to take real time photos and authenticate them with OTP. Along with this, it has also been made mandatory for the voter to have a voter ID card of Delhi.

Delhi Pradesh Congress vice-president Mudit Agrawal said that in the month of February, about one lakh Congress members were made. But as the elections are approaching, the work of making members is accelerating.

In the first eight days of March alone, 75 thousand members have been made. He said that the people who make up the maximum number of members would be fielded in the elections by giving them tickets.
