Automatic Ticket Vending Machines: Paytm Joins Hand With IRCTC For Buying Train Tickets Digitally

Paytm has partnered with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to install Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM) at railway stations across the country.

Indian Railways has come up with a facility to help train passengers to book tickets digitally through QR code scan on ticket vending machines.

In an effort to promote cashless movement among railway passengers, digital payments platform Paytm on Thursday announced that it has partnered with the IRCTC to facilitate digital ticketing services to consumers through ATVMs.

In the digital age, booking train tickets through railway counters can be a bit of a hassle and online booking through the official website of IRCTC is not possible for everyone. With this new ATVM facility, rail passengers will now be able to book their train tickets at the press of a button and pay by scanning the Paytm QR code or through UPI.

How to book a ticket through Atvm using UPI apps like Paytm-

  • Go to any train station and watch ATVM
  • Select preferred route on ATVM
  • Now choose the payment option as Paytm UPI
  • Scan the QR code available on the screen. After the transaction is completed, the passengers will get the physical i.e. paper ticket from the ATM.

Apart from this new service, IRCTC has also introduced an app that provides Tatkal services for passengers. This service is listed under confirm ticket mobile app. The app by IRCTC will help passengers to access information about seats available under the Tatkal quota, and they will not need to feed in the name of individual trains to check their routes. For more details about the new update by IRCTC, one can visit their official website.
