Female Suicide Data: More Than 45,000 Women Committed Suicide In India Last Year, Half Were Housewives!

During the last year i.e. 2021 in the country, 45,026 women committed suicide in which more than half were housewives. According to the report released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a total of 1,64,033 people took their lives last year, out of which 1,18,979 were males. It has been told in the report that most of the women who committed suicide were housewives, their figure is 23,178, while 5,693 students also took their lives. Over 77% Women Face Domestic Violence Silently: NFHS-5 Report

According to the latest report by the NFHS-5 (National Family Health Survey) 2019-21, more than 3/4th (77%) of women face domestic violence silently. Nearly 30% Of Indian Women Are Victims Of Harassment: Central Government

About one-third of the country's women are victims of physical or sexual abuse. This was stated in the report of the National Family Health Survey-5. However, the amount of domestic violence against women in the country has decreased slightly. As a percentage, it has come down from 31.2% to 29.3%. According to the report, 30% of women between the ages of 18 and 49 have been victims of physical violence since the age of 15. The report claims that 6% of women have been sexually abused at some point. Health Minister Mansukh Mandabia released the report last Thursday.
