Manipur, a northeastern state of India, has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The recent incident of violence that occurred shocked the nation and exposed the deep-rooted tensions between the Meitei and Kukis. On May 4, two Kuki women were subjected to brutal horror which jolted the nation. The incident shocked the nation. The Supreme Court albeit a few hours later when the video surfaced took suo moto cognisance of the act. It intervened and directed the state government to investigate the matter.
