Neither Hijab Nor Saffron Shawls Allowed: Karnataka Government Tells Supreme Court
The Karnataka government told the Supreme Court that the dress code was issued in February last year to maintain the 'secular character' of educational institutions and not from a religious point of view. Hearing the hijab-controversy case, the government on Tuesday told the apex court that not only hijab but also saffron shawls have been banned in government and government-aided educational institutions in Karnataka.
