There is good news for patients suffering from type 1 and type 2 diabetes across the country, as they will no longer have to rely on expensive insulin vaccines. The cheap tablet is also going to come into the market. This will soon be possible through the research of scientists from the School of Basic Science, IIT Mandi. According to lead researcher Dr Prosenjit Mandal, his team has discovered a new molecule, PK2 that is effective in the treatment of diabetes. It initiates the secretion of insulin from the pancreas in patients. A cheap drug can be made for the treatment of diabetes in patients.
