New Entry-Exit Point Of India-Bangladesh At Historical Mujibnagar; Initiative Taken By Delhi And Dhaka!
On behalf of the freedom fighters in that turbulent war, some journalists from Kolkata were asked to be present at the Press Club on the morning of 17 April. They were taken across the border to Krishnanagar, Chapra, Hridaypur in India and then to Vaidyanatha Tala, which is surrounded by mango orchards in East Pakistan. There the first government of Bangladesh during the war of liberation (Mujibnagar government) was sworn in under the leadership of Tajuddin Ahmed. There is also a press conference. After that the journalists returned to Calcutta on the same route. The border area entangled with that memory was named Mujibnagar on the same day as Vaidyanath Tala.
