More Than 90 Airports Of The Country Will Be Carbon Neutral By 2024, Said Union Minister!!
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said that over 90 airports in the country will become carbon neutral by the year 2024. He also said that the number of airports in the country will reach 220 in the next five years. The Union Minister, while speaking during the National Conference of All India Management Association, said that at present there are 141 airports in the country. Of these, airports at Kochi and Delhi are already carbon neutral. He said, "When I took over as the Minister of Aviation, the first thing I did was carbon mapping profiling of our airports. It revealed that our two airports, Delhi and Kochi, are already carbon-neutral and by the year 2024, there will be 92 to 93 in the country."
