CUET Mandatory For Undergraduate Programmes In Central Universities: UGC

The University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman M Jagadesh Kumar has announced that a Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is mandatory to take admission in undergraduate courses in Central universities. The UGC chairman also mentioned that Class 12 board marks will not add any weightage for the process to have admission in undergraduate courses. ‘No Boards’ Protest Escalates Amid Haryana’s School Board Decision Of Conducting Board Exams For Class 5 and 8

The 'No Boards' protest in Gurugram was arranged against the decision of the Haryana education board's decision of conducting Board exams for class 5 & 8. The decision as per the state education board will be implemented irrespective of the school affiliated board. This decision was announced on January 18, 2022, under the amendment of the Right to Education Act. Haryana Government appointed SCERT as the academic authority to conduct board exams for classes 5 and 8. On February 4, 2022, BSEH (Board of School Education Haryana) wrote to all districts education officers. The letter stated that all schools must register with the BSEH by February 15, 2022.
