The Pindra Gram Sabha constitutes 10 surrounding villages of the Machhlishahr parliamentary constituency. This township plan is being conducted under the Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Council. For this, the Development Council proposed to acquire 900 acres of land. To protest this acquisition, the farmers of the area conducted a sit-in-protest (dharna).
