India Mobile Congress, the nation's premier telecom event, saw the introduction of 5G. Telecom juggernauts praised the new technology and provided implementation schedules starting as early as March 2023. On October 1, 2018, at New Delhi's Pragati Maidan during the sixth India Mobile Congress, the nation's premier telecom event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced 5G services. The event, which will run till Tuesday and present numerous 5G use cases, was also opened by PM Modi. The PM spoke at the occasion and remarked, “New India will not remain a mere consumer of technology, but India will play an active role in the development and implementation of that technology. India will play a big role in designing the future wireless technology, and manufacturing related to it.”
