In an interesting set of development, ex Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh met with  BJP Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, what he described as a "courtesy call". The Punjab elections are scheduled to be held in 2022, and the last few months have seen intense factionalism and jostling for political power. Four times national award winner, Kangana Ranaut, has been yet again landed in the controversy. Recently, a complaint has been filed for her derogatory comment over the National Freedom. While at a summit, she stated that India got ‘real freedom’ in 2014. In her statement, she was addressing when BJP came into power, and further said, independence in 1947 was ‘bheek’ (alms). 16 Regional Parties Of The Country Took Donation Of Rs 24.779 Crore Without PAN Details!

In a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), a group working towards reforms in the field of elections, about 16 regional parties in the country have provided information about receiving Rs 24.779 crore as donations without PAN details. According to the information given by the parties to the Election Commission of India, ECI, these regional parties have collected this amount from 1,026 donations during the year 2019-20. According to the ADR report, between the financial years 2018-19 and 2019-20, in the amount received from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Samajwadi Party (SP), and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Aam Aadmi Party's Uttar Pradesh in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who reached Varanasi to lead the Tiranga Sankalp Yatra, was taken into custody by the Commissioner of Police. He was stopped and detained by the police on the Airport Road near Ganeshpur Tarnal in BHEL on Thursday morning. During this, he was also seen getting into a tussle with the policemen. He was repeatedly asking for a copy of the order on the basis of which he was stopped by the police. He said that every party is holding a rally in Varanasi. No one was stopped from coming.
