Nepotism In Indian Politics: Factor That Unites Diametrically Opposites

Sayani ChakrabortyJanuary 24, 20220

Nepotism is an integral part of Indian politics. When it comes to the five impending elections for state assemblies, it is not uncommon for members of one political family to be on opposite sides of the political divide. Everyone in Akhilesh Yadav's large family has been marginalised after a protracted rift, earning the Samajwadi Party (SP) considerable public ridicule for being a family business. Having no future in the SP, Aparna Yadav, his sister-in-law, decided to join the BJP. There is a fading return to the Badal family dominance of the Akali Dal, which has ruled Punjab politics for decades. Political Nepotism of India In Indian politics, dynastic succession is reality except for parties like the BJP and the dying CPM and CPI, though they too make provisions for scions dem...

Today he will hand over his resignation formally to the ruling party. At present, he is heading the BJP's manifesto committee for the upcoming assembly elections in Goa. Merger Of Amar Jawan Jyoti With Eternal Flame: A Perspective Change In Paying Homage To Martyred

Snehashish RoyJanuary 22, 20220

The half-a-century old memories of the iconic Amar Jawan Jyoti, burning beneath the arches of the India Gate, have been thwarted after it was ceremonially extinguished. The desacralization of the flame that had burned in honour of the fallen soldiers since 1972 is an uncharitable move by the ruling BJP to meddle with India's complex history and demolish the material markers of its history. The ruling BJP party, the evident subsidiary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has time and again proved itself to tactically bring about a tectonic shift to intrude into the Indian psyche and evoke the pristine past of Hindutva. The Centre has been attempting to mystify the country's history by replacing facts with myths and uncharted information in bulks. Confounding Ideological Quandar...

Nitesh PratapJanuary 19, 20220

Mulayam Singh Yadav's younger daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav joined BJP on Wednesday and the party gets a psychological edge. BJP may publicize this as a split in the Mulayam family. In the last Assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav had to bear the loss of resentment from uncle Shivpal Yadav. Uttar Pradesh BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh probed, "If Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav could not keep his family united, then what would be able to keep Uttar Pradesh united?" However, SP has prepared to give a befitting reply to this by uprooting a big problem of BJP. Snehashish RoyJanuary 18, 20220

The Dalit community accounts for as many as 21% of the total vote population in Uttar Pradesh. A section of the population that has decided the fate of politics in the state for the last couple of decades. Since its inception under the leadership of Kanshi Ram, Dalits have been supportive of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ever since the 1990s. The party went into an overhaul after Mayawati took charge as the first Dalit woman in India to become a chief minister of a state. Mayawati's technique to amalgamate Dalits and Brahmins using the social engineering formula had given her major success in the 2007 Assembly elections. However, her activism in the current election season seems missing. The former chief minister of UP and social reformer has remained absent on the ground. Und...
