On the occasion of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s 125th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the holographic statue of Netaji at the India Gate. Along with this, the Amar Jawan Jyoti, a memorial flame set up in 1972 by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as a homage to Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in several wars. The flame was moved to the newly constructed National War Memorial in India gate premises on Friday. Shiv Sena has expressed concern over Congress not showing enthusiasm on its proposal to repeat Maharashtra's alliance experiment in Goa assembly elections. Election Expenditure Hikes : ECI Raises Capital Limit For Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies

Election expenditure hikes by the Election Commission Of India just before the elections in the five states are welcomed by the political parties. This increment includes both the parliamentary and Assembly constituencies. Now, the upper limit is Rs 90 lakh for Lok Sabha and Rs 40 lakh for Assembly Elections candidates. Earlier the limit was Rs 70 lakh for Lok Sabha and Rs 28 lakh For Assembly polls.
