COVID-19: 92% Of Deaths In Pandemic Occurred In Non-Vaccinated People, Says ICMR

Covid-19 pandemic scars will never leave the memory of mankind. Death is one of the ugliest realities of the pandemic and it is inevitable to stand by. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) director-general Dr Balram Bhargava has said that 92% of the deaths that occurred in India in 2022 were non-vaccinated people. Only 10.2% of people who died in the pandemic belonged to the fully vaccinated group. The group which was fully vaccinated and died due to co-morbidities constitutes 91%. Whereas, those who were partially vaccinated form 21.8%. Around 83% of people had co-morbidities in the partially vaccinated group. Hunger Watch Report : 66% Families’ Income Suffer Loss; 25% Have Severe Food Insecurity Due To Pandemic

A survey conducted by the Right To Food Campaign in association with the Civil Society Organization reveals that 66% of families faced losses due to the pandemic. The Hunger Watch report states that the income of 2/3rd families is decreased in the two years of the pandemic. Almost 60% of people said that their income is reduced by 50% or more in the two years of the pandemic. The survey was conducted in 14 states. PM Modi Launches “Gobar-Dhan” Bio-CNG Plant In Indore To Tackle Issues Of Garbage Landfills

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through a virtual press release, has announced 75 "Gobar-Dhan" bio-CNG plants across different cities in India. The first such plant was inaugurated in Indore with a capacity of 550 tonnes with a budget of Rs 150 crores. "This is a significant step taken by our government under the Swachh Bharat Mission to solve the issue of garbage landfills," said PM Modi. The mission of this scheme is to convert the garbage landfills sites into a green zone in the coming years. Under their government, the garbage disposal capacity has increased four times since 2014. The mental health awareness issue was addressed in the budget session of 2022-23. The Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the pandemic has intensified mental health-related issues. To combat the problem and to provide quality mental health counselling and services, a National Tele Mental Health Programme will be launched. It will include a total of 23 mental health centres.
