It Is High Time For Young Minds To Consider A Career In Politics And Save The Nation

Sayani ChakrabortyMay 16, 20230

People with the capacity to be good leaders tend to stay away from politics. They think that it attracts mostly bad blood. Those in political office in 1947 and those in 2023 have vastly different values. The former politicians were motivated by a sincere desire to see the country become independent. But the latter were distracted by several unimportant objectives. The ability of young people to affect change in a country's political climate has always amazed me. I am certain that the participation of young people in politics is essential for the development of a nation. This is said having witnessed numerous examples of successful youth movements in other areas of the world. I've noticed that many urban young people in Bharat have little to no interest in politics. Instead, they...

SHIVANI UJJAINWALApril 25, 20230

Nandini also sold its products in other states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, and its products are also available in Karnataka, according to Nirmala Sitharaman. To suddenly claim that Amul is being brought to Karnataka to murder Nandini is "brazen," Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Sunday, claiming that the Gujarat-based dairy cooperative entered the state while the Congress was in office. Under the brand name Nandini, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) sells milk, curd, and other dairy products. She claimed that things had been modified, distorted, and turned into an emotional issue because it was election season in Karnataka, where Assembly elections will be held on May 10. SHIVANI UJJAINWALApril 20, 20230

A Surat court will rule today on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's request for a stay of his conviction in the criminal defamation case stemming from his "Modi surname" statement. The Congress leader was granted bail by the Surat Sessions Court on April 3 after filing an appeal following his conviction in the case. It heard both sides and then set the order for April 20. Rahul Gandhi was a Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad until he was disqualified on March 23 when a lower court in Surat sentenced him to two years in prison under sections 499 and 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in a c

Karnataka’s BJP Government Overhauls State’s Reservation Policy For First Time Since 1994

Sayani ChakrabortyApril 7, 20230

On Friday, the BJP government in Karnataka made significant changes to the state's reservation policy, altering its contours for the first time since 1994. Two politically influential populations, the Vokkaligas and Lingayats, had their sub-quotas increased by two percentage points each. Muslims were thus eliminated from the OBC category. With a two-point rise to 17%, the scheduled caste quota was broken into four more groups. With the EWS quota, the proposed modifications will boost the total reservation to 66%. Legally, it is not yet complete. Chief Minister Bommai of Karnataka has announced that the administration will urge that the Indian government place the state's reservation policy under the Constitution's ninth schedule. These changes occur shortly prior to the upcoming ass...

Disturbances in North East India Continues As People Suffer From Discrimination

Sayani ChakrabortyApril 6, 20230

Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland have seen a significant decrease in the number of "disturbed areas," and a review of the designation in 2023 will be an incremental step toward removing the label and making it irrelevant. This will allow the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (Afspa), a lawless law that allows the armed forces and central police to search and arrest without warrant and shoot on suspicion for "maintaining public order," to be put into effect. One district in Nagaland was no longer classified as a "disturbed area" this year. Eight of Nagaland's sixteen districts (including Dimapur) are now fully subject to Afspa, while a further five are subject to it in some form. Tripura repealed Afspa in 2015, and Meghalaya removed it in 2018 after 27 years. Both of these states recently ...

Dalits, OBCs, Muslims Should Beware Of SP Says Mayawati: Checkout Deets!

SHIVANI UJJAINWALApril 5, 20230

A police report was filed against SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya after he used a 90s slogan during a programme on Monday in Raebareli. Akhilesh, the party president, also attended the ceremony to witness the unveiling of the statue honouring Kanshi Ram.  Mayawati, the head of the BSP, stated on Wednesday that members of the Dalit, OBC, and Muslim communities should be wary of the Samajwadi Party because it prioritises caste politics and "anargal" issues over development and the general welfare. Her comments came two days after Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav declared that the "Bahujan Samaj" is joining forces with his party in a significant way to protect its rights, democracy, and the B R Ambedkar-drafted Constitution. Mayawati said that Mulayam Singh Yadav's aims were not pur
