Election 2022: One In Punjab, Two In Manipur While Seven Phases In UP; Counting Of Votes Simultaneously In All States

The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the dates for assembly elections in five states. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra informed that polling will be held in one phase in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, two in Manipur, and seven in Uttar Pradesh. The voting of the elections will begin in Uttar Pradesh from February 10. Vote Counting will be done in all the states together on March 10. A strict protocol will be followed during elections. Victory procession will not be allowed after the winning of candidates. The Chief Election Commissioner told that Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Goa will go to the polls in one phase on February 14, while Manipur will vote in two phases on February 27 and March 3. Election expenditure hikes by the Election Commission Of India just before the elections in the five states are welcomed by the political parties. This increment includes both the parliamentary and Assembly constituencies. Now, the upper limit is Rs 90 lakh for Lok Sabha and Rs 40 lakh for Assembly Elections candidates.
