The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has discovered a total of 65 new planets outside the Earth. This new discovery takes the whole number of exoplanets that are discovered to over 5,000. A number of these discovered planets are Earth-like. This discovery has marked a milestone in space exploration. These 65 newly discovered planets are now being studied to see for the presence of microbes, water, gases on their surface, or perhaps life. According to astronomers, the Milky Way Galaxy is home to many billions of such planets and there are such a large amount of galaxies present in space. The James Webb Space Telescope clicked a picture that showed thousands of galaxies and there are chances that every one of them has unexplored Earth-like worlds. The discov...

The NASA Solar Orbiter satellite made history by capturing images of a massive solar eruption. The eruption is also called prominence and surprisingly the string of fire that was attached to the Sun was extending millions of kilometres into space. Such solar storms cause coronal mass ejections (CME) which can cause havoc on the earth. This orbiter was a joint mission between NASA and European Space Agency (ESA) and was launched in February 2020 and it began its operation in November 2021. This particular image of a solar storm will help scientists study how they are created. It is to be noted here that such solar storms create clouds of gas that remain concentrated above the magnetic field of the Sun. The scientists agree that the massive solar eruption could have caused a gigant...
Read MoreIran used a satellite launch rocket to send three research devices into space on December 30. The Simorgh (Phoenix) satellite carrier rocket launched the devices at an altitude of 470km. Ahmad Hosseini, the spokesman of Defence Ministry in Iran said that, “The simorgh satellite launcher carried three research cargos into space. The intended research objectives of this launch were achieved. This was done as a preliminary launch. God willing, we will have a operational launch soon.“ Ahmed Hosseini However, Hosseini and other officials remained silent on the status of the objects suggesting the rocket had fallen short of placing its payload into the right orbit. State TV showed footage of what it said was the firing of the launch vehicle from the Imam Khomeini Space Center. Washington ...
