A parliamentary panel has expressed anguish that the general public image of police across the country is negative and they are often seen as insensitive towards the soul and vulnerable sections. The Parliamentary Committee on the ministry of home affairs, headed by Congress leader Anand Sharma, also noted concernedly that corruption complaints were filed against some IPS officers. Over 11 Lakh Ineligible Farmer Benefitted Under PM KISAN Scheme: Assam Government To High Court

The Assam government has informed the Gauhati High Court that a total of 12 lakh ineligible farmers in the state have received benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. The court was hearing a plea filed by NGO Amguri Naba Nirman Samity. The division bench comprising justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Soumitra Saikia asked the state government to file a close status report on the case.
