Gyanvapi Masjid Case: Court-Appointed Advocate Commissioner Shown Door
A petitioner said that the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb destroyed a temple in order to construct the Gyanvapi Masjid mosque in the 16th century. This allegation was based on historical evidence. A complete study of the complex was sought to be carried out by the Archeological Survey of India by the petitioner. During the 1190s the temple is significantly destroyed as a direct consequence of the orders given by Muhammad Ghori, which sets in motion a chain reaction of destruction and restoration that will continue for the duration of the history of humanity.
