An Indian-born physician Ashish Jha has been appointed the new White House COVID-19 response coordinator. He has replaced Jeff Zeints. Jha is a leading health specialist within the US and he has been recognized for his knowledgeable and calming public presence. He is a communicable disease expert and also the dean of Brown University’s School of Public Health. He has worked on the filovirus and served as co-chair of a panel to combat the disease’s breakout in West Africa in 2014. Jha also offered his advice to the White House on Zients and his team’s national COVID-19 readiness strategy, which was published earlier this month. Australia’s La Trobe University has developed an early screening tool that will detect autism in children aged between 12 and 24 months. The new tool by many experts refers as Social Attention and Communication Surveillance (SACS). It's two elements -- SACS-Revised and SACS-Preschool. Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) is the number of maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. India has shown an improvement in MMR numbers. COVID-19: WHO Adds Molnupiravir Pill In Updated Guidelines For Treatment

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has updated the guidelines for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, as it allows the conditional use of Molnupiravir, an anti-viral pill. Hunger Watch Report : 66% Families’ Income Suffer Loss; 25% Have Severe Food Insecurity Due To Pandemic

A survey conducted by the Right To Food Campaign in association with the Civil Society Organization reveals that 66% of families faced losses due to the pandemic. The Hunger Watch report states that the income of 2/3rd families is decreased in the two years of the pandemic.
