After Independence, India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s 57th death anniversary, remembered by Ustad Amjad Ali khan.
Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, a famous Indian classical sarod player, is best known for his clear and fast Ekcharn Taans. Amjad Ali Khan was born into a classical musical family and has performed internationally since the 1960s.
On the 57th death anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Amjad Ali khan shared one of his gems of the red-letter day with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Amjad Ali Khan, and his father Hafiz khan in the picture, his father introduced him with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru after the Padma Award in the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Mughal Garden.

Amjad Ali Khan remarked that “Remembering Pandit Jawaharlal on his 57th death anniversary. After the Padma Award, India’s highest civilian awards ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan, my father Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan introduced me to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the Mughal Garden in 1960.”#Jawaharlal Indian National Congress.
He was awarded India’s second-highest civilian honor Padma Vibhushan in 2001. Amjad Ali Khan was born 9 October 1945 as Masoom Ali khan. He was the youngest of seven children to Gwalior court musicians Hafiz Ali Khan and Rahat Jahan.
