Manish Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, was placed in judicial detention on Monday and will remain there till March 20. The court also instructed the jail superintendent to take into account the request from Sisodia&#8217;s side to keep the accused in a Vipassana\/Meditation cell. On March 10, the court will hear his bail request. On March 20, when his judicial custody expires, he will be physically brought before the court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As the CBI tried to confront Sisodia with important witnesses, the court on Saturday extended his detention by two days. As Sisodia referred to it as &#8220;mental harassment,&#8221; special judge M K Nagpal ordered the CBI to stop repeatedly asking him the same questions. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;They are not using third-degree. But sitting for eight to nine hours and answering the same questions again and again, that too is mental harassment,&#8221; Sisodia said when he was produced before the court on the expiry of his earlier five-day CBI custody, as quoted by news agency PTI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-156480 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Manish-Sisodia.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"744\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Manish-Sisodia.png 744w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Manish-Sisodia-300x226.png 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Manish-Sisodia-450x339.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 744px) 100vw, 744px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interestingly, the court has mandated that the accused be examined and questioned in a location with CCTV camera surveillance. Sisodia was questioned by several of the prosecution&#8217;s key witnesses about some crucial details, and the CBI had already informed the court. He was completely unhelpful and evasive in his attitude and behaviour throughout these interactions, according to the CBI, as quoted by PTI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manish Sisodia claimed in his bail application that he joined the inquiry as and when the primary investigative agency requested that he do so. Furthermore, he claimed that since all of the recoveries had already been made, holding him in detention would be ineffective.
