Among this group, 49 per cent identified studying as the main trigger, followed by tests and results (28 per cent).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"plag_find\" data-countername=\"plag_match_counter6\">The survey was carried out between January and March this year.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"plag_find active\" data-countername=\"plag_match_counter1\">According to the report, &#8220;Though slight gender differences are evident among genders, girls (50 per cent) were slightly more anxious than boys (47 per cent) about their studies.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"plag_find\" data-countername=\"plag_match_counter3\">The social status accorded to doing well in academics creates anxiety in students to perform well.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"plag_find\" data-countername=\"plag_match_counter2\">Hence, studies in themselves are viewed as an important factor.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The findings of the study indicate that a wide range of issues ranging from academics, personal independence, social interaction to peer relationships, professional anxiety and subject specialization affect students&#8217; emotional well-being.<\/p>\n<p>The report found that happiness was the most commonly experienced emotion among students, which decreased as they moved into higher grades. <span class=\"plag_find\" data-countername=\"plag_match_counter4\">&#8220;Just a little above 50 per cent of students expressed being perceived as happy by the people in their life.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-154648 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/study2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/study2.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/study2-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/study2-450x311.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It suggested that secondary-level students had &#8220;relatively lesser social support&#8221; to &#8220;discuss their feelings.&#8221; It is due to &#8220;major developmental changes&#8221; during the transition from middle to secondary.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"plag_find\" data-countername=\"plag_match_counter5\">These include, &#8220;advances in cognitive capacities and strategies, self-reflective skills, self-regulation abilities, reasoning, logical thinking, perspective-taking, and expanded socialisation&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Respondents who identified as the third gender demonstrated &#8220;low confidence in physical appearance and in trusting others&#8221; due to the absence of a &#8220;support system.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Citing this as a &#8220;concerning trend&#8221;, a national mental health survey conducted by the Centre found that an overwhelming majority of students at the middle and high school levels are anxious about academic activities.
