It stands for &#8220;One Nation-One Law&#8221;. UCC mainly aims to replace personal laws dependent on the scriptures and customs of each significant religious community in India.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Main Issue Related to UCC in Modern India<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Authority<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It can be declared that it was probably wise in 1858 for a foreign colonial power to stay away from a region related to religion and custom while maintaining peace.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Hindu vs Muslim<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> It is not only non-Hindus who may have severe objections to the proclamation of the law that will govern their most inherent faiths, custom and practices. The UCC will promote gender parity.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Provide Equal Status<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A secular democratic republic order provides equal status to its citizens based on their religion, class, caste, gender etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Support National Integrity<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All citizens are treated equally before the court of law, whether criminal or personal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-148948 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ucc3-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ucc3-1.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ucc3-1-300x173.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ucc3-1-450x259.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Disadvantages of Uniform Civil Code<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Difficulties due to diversity<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is challenging to come up with a uniform set of rules for personal issues like marriage due to different cultures in India across the religion, castes, states etc<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sensitive Task<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The application of UCC is a sensitive and challenging task as it will bring many changes to society like ensuring equality, adopting expansive interpretations of marriage, and maintaining a view that one community should benefit others. The task is very different, for the government would be expected to be sensitive and unbiased while dealing with the majority and minority communities; otherwise, riots would be more disastrous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami said that Uttarakhand would be the first state to implement the UCC. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In Bihar, JD(U) leader Upendra Kushwaha said, &#8220;why will the UCC be implemented here as the people of living peacefully\u2026I don&#8217;t think there is any need for it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All India Muslim personal law board has once again taken strong objection to the UCC, stating that it is unconstitutional, anti-minority and unacceptable to Muslims.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><\/h1>\n\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Uniform Civil Code has been a long-lasting part of the Bharatiya Janata Party manifesto.
