And sex workers have the same status and equal rights as people in five professions. Apart from reminding this issue, the country&#8217;s apex court has also curbed the trend of police interference in the work of volunteers and filing criminal cases.<\/p>\n<p>A three-judge bench headed by Justice El Nageshwar Rao has issued six directives in this regard. The Supreme Court thinks that the rights of sex workers will be protected through it. The bench said, &#8220;Sex workers are also entitled to equal protection in the eyes of the law. When it is clear that a sex worker is an adult and sells sex with consent, the police must refrain from undue interference. No criminal action can be taken. Article 21 of the constitution guarantees the right of every citizen of this country to a dignified life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-147143 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/sexwork1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1031\" height=\"712\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/sexwork1.jpg 1031w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/sexwork1-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/sexwork1-1024x707.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/sexwork1-768x530.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/sexwork1-450x311.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/sexwork1-869x600.jpg 869w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1031px) 100vw, 1031px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The court made it clear that sex workers should not be arrested, punished or harassed during police raids on sex villages. Because sex is not illegal, just running a sex village is illegal.<\/p>\n<p>The apex court ruled that the child could not be removed from the mother on the grounds that the mother was engaged in sex work. In this case, it cannot be done otherwise in the case of a sex worker who is entitled to the same benefits as an ordinary person. The court has also given clear instructions that the identities of sex workers should not be made public in case of any incident.<\/p>\n<p>The apex court also sought the Central&#8217;s views on the recommendations. The next hearing of the case is on July 27.
