Over half of these deaths are because of vaccine preventable and treatable infections like pneumonia, diarrhea and sepsis. When it comes to India&#8217;s deathrate ,it&#8217;s very shocking to know that the rate is 39 meaning about 9.9 lakh babies die within one year of birth mostly from preventable causes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.news18.com\/ibnlive\/uploads\/2021\/05\/1621586925_untitled-design-44.jpg?im=FitAndFill,width=1200,height=675\" alt=\"Third Wave of Covid-19 and Children: What You Need to Know About India's Strategy and Vaccines for Kids\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To overcome its high child death rate India has added four new vaccines to its universal immunization programme besides providing free vaccines against 10 life threatening diseases to 27 million children through quite 9 million immunization sessions every year.<\/p>\n<p>Unvaccinated children are more in danger of dying before their 5th birthday making vaccines the foremost cost-effective public health intervention to forestall diseases and death. Parents lack awareness of advantages of vaccination.
