Compared to women who have their first child as an adult, those that women have their child as a young person are less educated, poorer and more underweight.<\/p>\n<p>Other factors include access to health services during antenatal, delivery and babyhood periods; infant and young child feeding. of these indicators are worse for adolescent mothers compared to adult mothers. Teenage mothers were underweight and anaemic. They were less likely to hunt health services as per the IFPRI study. They also had lower education or no education, no deciding power and lived in poor households with no or poor sanitation.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015-16 around 27% of women got married before the age of 18 years and around 4.5 million girls were pregnant or had become mothers in 2015-16 consistent with NFHS-4.
